Hi 👋 We're Katie and Bhavik 👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽 and we just returned to Canada after traveling the world for 400 days straight. Coming back home has been a hard adjustment... But one thing is for sure, we will never be the same!

We were driving along the 401 🛣️ from MTL to Toronto when Bhavik comes running outta the OnRoute and says: We have to take THIS exit! 🙄

Located in Eastern Ontario, between Cornwall and the 417, the Long Sault Parkway is a 10 km drive connecting 11 islands and in our opinion is the perfect autumn drive. 🍂

It was one of those serendipitous moments, where an unplanned stop (and a lil help from Destination Ontario) made a long drive home so much better. 😊

Let's dive in...

👕 We are so much more comfortable wearing clothes & wearing things that aren't 100% fresh. It’s funny how fast you adapt to things that made you uncomfortable before.

🌏 Overall, we've felt safer than we expected, pretty much everywhere we visited. The world is much safer than you think. We learn this fresh again on every trip after spending some time getting scared by western media.

🤔 Routine felt boring and monotonous at home but now we sometimes miss having a routine.

💬 The English language is so dominant throughout the world. That doesn't mean you shouldn't learn bits of the local language, just that language isn't as large of a hurdle as it once was (for an anglophone)

🚗 We were able to drive in various countries with so many different vehicles, traffic levels, rules, and even on the left side of the road. You’re capable of more than you give yourself credit for.

🏠 We haven't been very homesick. We think this has more to do with the work-centric lifestyle we had before the trip. Keeping balance will be more important to us going forward.

📱Travelling is incredible, but we both like to work and thrive when we have a project. Having our social media was an excellent way to learn new skills and engage with a community of travel lovers worldwide.

If you like to experience natural beauty without t If you like to experience natural beauty without the crowds, this post is for you. 👋

Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay is famous for good reason. It’s a UNESCO site. It’s ridiculously beautiful. It’s completely natural. 🇻🇳

But there’s a problem… Ha Long Bay is suffering from overtourism. It’s common to see garbage floating in the once pristine water. You certainly won’t be alone, with around 500 boats on the bay each day. 🚢

The alternative? Visit Bai Tu Long Bay 🙌 Comment 'BOAT' and we'll send you all the details for company we cruised with!

Bai Tu Long is a less touristy version of Ha Long Bay. It’s farther from the port, making it a much quieter and equally beautiful experience. During our 3 day cruise we saw less than 15 other cruise boats! (They also have a 2d1n option for a shorter trip) ⛴️

Fun fact, we were supposed to go on this cruise on our honeymoon. Katie got severely ill and we had to return home before that happened. 🙈
